VICTORIA MONTOYA deserves rating a clearer winner as she did not look happy on the track, unsurprisingly for a strapping filly, who looks to be progressing as she strengthens up and steps up in trip. Added to that, she could not get running room inside the last 4f and then was twice bumped by Dolly Penrose when about to assert. If she had lost the photo, even the stewards would surely have given her the race.
Dolly Penrose came clear with the winner and her rider could hardly ride a finish as she hung badly left away from his whip when he raised it and he had to just push her out hands and heels and yet was only just caught, finishing well clear of the rest. She looks a strong stayer in the making and should soon make amends.
Krisnando deserves mention as she was very slowly away and took a hold at the back. She still made smooth headway into the straight and came to challenge before her stamina ran out and she was eased in the final furlong. A drop back in trip could see her land a maiden.
