Celticello held up and behind, headway 3f out, ridden over 1f out, one pace final furlong

Venir Rouge held up and behind, ridden 4f out, stayed on final furlong, never dangerous

Stringsofmyheart with leader, led over 8f out until over 5f out, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out

Spence Appeal held up and behind, pushed along over 3f out, never near leaders

Sweet Request held up, headway on inside over 4f out, ridden over 3f out, weakened over 1f out

Queen Excalibur chased leading pair, ridden over 3f out, weakened over 2f out

What looked a fairly open affair in the context of the grade turned into a one horse show as SILVER BLUE simply ran away with this handicap after being very unlucky at Brighton last time. He was rated much higher than this in his earlier days but hadnot won for three years before being rejuvenated by his current trainer who does well with this type of horse. The handicapper is not going to be kind after this rout.

Uig had no chance with the winner but she had been in good form prior to this and therefore the form looks pretty solid for this grade.

Celticello probably wants more cut in the ground than he encountered on this occasion.

Venir Rouge never seemed to be travelling with much relish and Stringsofmyheart came into the race on a four-timer but may have been feeling the effects of a couple of quick runs.
