Calakanga held up in touch, ridden 3f out, switched right 2f out, led inside final furlong, ran on
Ethereal Flame led after 1f, ridden over 2f out, headed and not quicken inside final furlong
Inquisitive Look always prominent, every chance over 2f out, soon ridden, weakened towards finish
Purely By Chance led 1f, prominent, lost place and ridden over 5f out, stayed on final furlong
Romantic Retreat held up in touch, improved to chase leader over 6f out, weakened well over 1f out
Lake Nayasa always behind
Great Future held up and behind, headway over 5f out, ridden and weakened over 3f out
Bombay Dreams dwelt, always behind, tailed off
CALAKANGA had not shown a lot on her debut when a well-beaten 33-1 shot, but this step up in trip seemingly brought about improvement. She is well related andher breeding suggested she would do better over this distance and there is no reason she cannot go on from here.
Ethereal Flame set the pace and looked like nicking it but she was worried out of it by the winner close home. There should be one of these in her though at some stage.
Purely By Chance was the only one to make any inroads from off the pace in the straight but she was ridden pretty vigorously to do so and does not appear anything out of the ordinary.
Romantic Treat is another who will be trying handicap company after her third compulsory run.
