Penny´s Gift pulled hard early, tracked leaders, led well over 1f out, pushed out
Hay Fever led, headed over 3f out, led over 2f out until well over 1f out, ridden and kept on same pace final furlong
In Transit held up in touch, ridden over 1f out, kept on same pace inside final furlong
Kingswinford switched right soon after start, pushed along over 3f out, headway 2f out, ridden over 1f out, one pace final furlong
Ridgeway Silver took keen hold, soon prominent on stands' rail, lost place 4f out, no danger after
Haven´t A Clue prominent until ridden and weakened over 1f out
Madison Belle behind, pushed along over 3f out, ridden over 2f out, beaten when edged left over 1f out
Haulit with leader, led over 3f out until over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
This novice stakes was fair for the grade, and PENNY'S GIFT managed to follow up her recent course win over a furlong shorter in nice style. The time of the race and the way she did it strongly suggested she is going the right way and connections will now be forced to look at better races for her as she will be too high up the ratings for nurseries.
Hay Fever finished runner-up for the third consecutive time, but he bumped into a decent type here and there does not appear to be anything untoward temperament wise.
Much the same applies to Kingswinford except that he has not won yet.
Haven't A Clue was disappointing following his Folkestone win but that might have not been as good asit first appeared as he grabbed the near side rail that day which seemed to be a great help all through the card.
