Analyis of the race

A decent prize and a competitive line-up, though the early gallop was, surprisingly, not that strong. NOVELLEN LAD, who was settled in midfield, picked up when required and, in a thrilling finish, he showed a good attitude in getting home on top. A half-brother to prolific winner Ellens Academy, he was adding her to his previous win at Musselburgh. He is going the right way.

Rubirosa, back to winning ways at Ayr last time, ran a blinder in second, despite going to his left slightly under pressure, while Spanish Bounty went down fighting in third, after making much of the running.
