With Faraway Sound, the clear pick on form and the virtually guaranteed favourite, a non-runner on a self-certificate, this claimer did not take a great deal of winning. That said, it was won emphatically by the newcomer MISSUS CHRISTIE, who knew her job and who put some daylight between herself and her rivals inside the last.
Lady Fantasie, dropped in class, duelled for the lead and probably ran her race, but the winner proved much too strong for her in the closing stages. Just Five, tailed-off on his debut, after losing his action in a maiden, was another dropped in class. He ran respectably and this looks about as good as he is at present.
