Scuffle tracked leaders, raced keenly, led over 2f out, ridden and edged left inside final furlong, just held on
Lindelaan held up, headway over 2f out, ridden inside final furlong, ran on
Silver Rime always prominent, every chance 2f out, soon ridden and edged left, no extra inside final furlong
Upton Grey tracked leaders, pulled hard, ridden over 2f out, stayed on same pace final furlong
Toto Skyllachy led, headed after 1f, led again halfway, headed over 2f out, soon ridden, weakened inside final furlong
King Hafhafah held up in touch, ridden over 3f out, hung left over 1f out, stayed on same pace
Mekong Melody held up, not clear run over 2f out, hampered over 1f out, never dangerous
Arctic Cape led after 1f, headed halfway, weakened over 1f out
Quam Celerrime slowly into stride, held up, ridden halfway, always in rear
Eternal Luck chased leaders, not much room and lost place over 6f out, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Pleasingly, SCUFFLE and Lindelaan pulled a little way clear of the rest and both are probably a short step ahead of thehandicapper.
Scuffle is a big, scopey filly, who although appreciative of fast ground, may have found underfoot conditions a shade too quick for her. If that is the case, she deserves extra credit for winning this, as she was at full throttle for someway but never flinched under pressure and gamely held off the charging Lindelaan.
This was only the third run of her life, and she seems sure to get better as the season develops, with a step up to 1m2f unlikely to bother her in the least.
Silver Rime dropped back in trip after disappointing over 1m2f at Newbury and he ran up to his mark in third, just ahead of Upton Grey, who performed respectably on his return from a 55-day spring absence.
Toto Skyllachy and Arctic Cape both weakened after setting the pace. Arctic Cape, in particular, could leave this form behind as he wasted a lot of energy by racing freely. He is probably better than he showed here.
