PRITI FABULOUS had shaped with promise in her last couple of maidens over 6f and this step back up to 7f on her handicap debut looked a good move. Well supported at the head of the market, she looked to be going nowhere two out, but eventually got going under a strong ride and was well on top inside the final furlong.
She is by a sprinting sire, but all the evidence suggests 1m will suit and there should be more to come, even though she will have more on her plate next time.
Lady Amberlini, who has shown little in two previous handicap ventures, was well drawn in 14 and held a good early position. She went to the front over a furlong out and ran on well under pressure, but could not match the winner. Thiswas a step in the right direction and she should be placed to find a small race off her lowly rating.
Loveinanelevator, who did not get the splits when finishing ninth on her recent handicap debut at Newmarket, was again held up. She travelled nicely into contention but lacked the speed to make a winning run and was forced to settle for third. We have still to see the best of her and she looks up to winning a similar race.
Asian Lady seemingly lacked the speed to challenge when a beaten favourite over 6f on her handicap debut at Bath last time and she again found herself outpaced as they quickened. She kept plugging away, though, and may well be worth a try over 1m now.
Rio L'Oren, narrow winner of a moderate 7f maiden at Wolverhampton in February, looked to be on just a fair mark for this handicap debut and the draw could have been kinder. She never got into it.
Hasty Lady was always struggling following a slow start, while handicap debutant Little Cee failed to settle and paid the price late on.
