Deadly Secret soon close up, led after 1f, made rest, driven out final furlong
Master Rooney ran green behind leaders, headway and hung right 2f out, kept on well final furlong, better for race
Pegasus Lad chased leaders, effort 2f out, kept on same pace final furlong, improve
Markyg prominent, effort 2f out, one pace approaching final furlong
Flyit slowly into stride, behind and outpaced until some late headway
Red China Blues took keen hold, led 1f, close up until weakened well over 1f out, eased when no chance final furlong
DEADLY SECRET showed good early pace and, leading after a furlong, made the rest of the running, sticking to his task well in the closing stages. He was expected to run well, even though he was a 20-1 chance, and there will be improvement to come.
The same applies to Master Rooney, who ran very green early on and did not seem entirely happy on the ground, which his trainer felt was a fair bit quicker than at last week's meeting here. He was getting the hang of things in the final stages and finished a lot closer than seemed likely at halfway.
Pegaus Lad looked as if he would just benefit from the run and ran with some promise, keeping on well in the closing stages.
Flyit was keen and had two handlers in the parade ring. He missed the break but did keep on in the closing stages and if this has settled him down he ought to have more to offer next time.
Red China Blues was on his toes in the parade ring and keen early on in the race. He showed some pace to two out but then gave best and was eased when his chance had gone.
