Double Spectre rear, headway over 2f out, ridden, edged right and led 1f out, driven out
Colonel Flay held up in rear, switched left to outside and headway over 2f out, stayed on under pressure to chase winner inside final furlong but always held
Greenwich Village soon chasing leader, challenged 3f out, led soon after, haded under pressure inside final 2f, kept on same pace inside final furlong
Summer Of Love towards rear, headway from 3f out, driven to press leaders when edged right 1f out, stayed on same pace
Savannah mid-division wwhen ridden and outpaced 4f out, switched left 2f out and ran on under pressure final furlong but never going pace to reach leaders
Bold Bobby Be in touch, ridden and one pace 2f out, staying on but not going pace to trouble leaders when hampered 1f out

Resplendent Ace chased leaders, ridden 3f out, led inside final 2f, headed over 1f out and soon weakened
Good Effect in touch, chased leaders over 2f out, led over 1f out, narrowly headed when hampered 1f out and soon weakened
Generous Lad chased leaders, ridden insode final 3f, weakening and no chance when hampered 1f out
One To Follow chased leaders, ridden 3f out, weakened from 2f out, out of contention when slightly hampered 1f out
Ocean Avenue led until headed inside final 3f, soon weakened
DOUBLE SPECTRE appreciated the step up to this distance as he held too many guns for the opposition. He had been second at Bath last time but the winner has been beaten over hurdles since, so the form is only average.
Colonel Flay had appeared not to get home when stepped up to 1m6f last time and found this trip much more to his liking.
Summer Of Love, having her first run for her new trainer, ran as well as could be expected.
There were three horses - Good Effect, Bold Bobby Be and Resplendent Ace - who were probably going to finish closer than they did as they met trouble in running of one form or another in the closing stages.
