Main Aim held up in rear, took keen hold, shaken up 2f out, ridden and ran on to lead near finish
Carniolan chased leaders, ridden to lead approaching final furlong, headed towards finish
Profitability tracked leaders, ridden and one pace from over 1f out
Polmaily towards rear, headway on inside 2f out, kept on one pace final furlong
Ma Vie En Rose led until ridden and headed approaching final furlong
Rowaad tracked leader until ridden 2f out, weakened final furlong
Flying Flute steadied start, in touch until hung left 2f out, soon beaten
Gun For Sale slowly away, always towards rear
Cherries On Top steadied start, pulled hard, always behind
Carniolan set the standard of those that we had seen beforehand, as he had shown more than enough to win a race like this in his previous two outings. He saw off all the others well but could not withstand the winner. One of these will surely come his way.
Polmaily came into the race with a mark of 78 and was well beaten in the end so the handicapper has something to work off when rating the others.
