He's been fired on his forelegs, but clearly retains some of his ability, though as he's rated 77, and the second, who met him at level weights, has a mark of 47, he'll find life a great deal harder in handicaps.
Kerry's Blade, whose last run had been over fences, probably ran to his mark but had no chance with the winner.
Muraco was stepping up in trip, and though this wasn't a stamina test, he was too keen and didn't get home. Blushing Hilary was never a threat.
