Mimicker belied his long odds with a sound run in second. She was well beaten on her debut in a Thirsk seller, but stepped up markedly on that, recovering from a tardy break to challenge strongly inside the last furlong.
A reproduction of this effort should be good enough for her to win in similar company.
The first three were clear of Tito Gobbi, who is a stable companion of the winner and showed improved form on this step up to 6f for the first time. Even so he's probably no better than a modest plater.
Comghaire, third in a seller on her debut on easy ground, led early but was in trouble soon after halfway and faded.
