Plenty with chances at the weights in a potentially competitive 76-95 handicap. It was run at a strong gallop but it is still none too easy to come from off the pace here and DAAWEITZA did well to win as he did, down the field on the inside entering the straight but picking up well once switched right to lead near the finish, despite his rider losing his whip. This third win in four starts shows what great form he is in, and its narrow nature should ensure he does not go up dramatically in the weights. He will have to be of very strong interest again next time.

Gallantry had finished second in this race 12 months previously and ran much better than he had been doing of late, leading inside the final one furlong until close home. He is on a decent mark and looks back in a bit of form so is worth keeping an eye on in near-to-hand engagements.

Victoria Cup fifth Guilded Warrior remains in fine fettle as he ran a really good race considering that he was drawn widest of all but was soon disputing the lead. He was only done with late on - he is worth bearing in mind if better drawn next time.

Captain Jacksparra and Phluke had finished second and third behind this winner at Catterick 17 days previously - they look to have reproduced their running with each other and performed creditably, with Daaweitza finding extra.

Heywood was a shade keen on this step back up from 7f, while Hazzard County was slowly away and never able to get into it from behind - he is worth another chance.
