Dear Maurice tracked leaders, ridden over 2f out, stayed on to lead 1f out, soon drew clear
Sotik Star tracked leader to halfway, went 2nd again well over 2f out, driven to lead 2f out, headed and outpaced 1f out
Australia Day reared start, pulled hard and held up in midfield, effort over 2f out, stayed on from over 1f out to take 3rd near finish
Quaglino Way led, driven and headed 2f out, weakened final furlong
Aggravation held up in last pair, shaken up 3f out, tried to make progress from 2f out, urged along and kept on, never nearer
Grand Vizier held up behind leaders, taken to outer and effort over 2f out, hanging and no impression on leaders over 1f out
Eastern Emperor took keen hold, tracked leaders, still close up 2f out, reminder over 1f out and edged left, eased inside final furlong
Dream Of Fortune held up in rear, reminders and looked awkward over 2f out, never on terms, kept on
Golden Prospect dwelt, held up in last pair, nudged along from 3f out, never near leaders
Leptis Magna steadied start, held up well in rear, taken to outer and effort over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Louisiade pulled hard, close up, tracked leader halfway to well over 2f out, weakened under pressure
Davenport held up in midfield, taken to wide outside over 2f out and brief effort, pushed along and gradually lost place from over 1f out
Briannsta pulled hard, prominent until weakened over 2f out
In a soundly run race, he showed a fine turn of foot to burst clear in the final furlong to soon have the race won. He is starting from a relatively lowly mark and, even allowing for a rise for this, he looks one to follow.
Sotik Star made a winning-looking move into the last 2f until the winner swamped him, but he stayed on resolutely and looks ready for a first win on turf.
Australia Day was again undone by his wont to race with the choke out. He was allowed to miss the beat to get cover but immediately took a hold and yet was still finishing well for third. He remains an enigma with only one win in his native Ireland to his name.
Last year's winner Aggravation could not add a fourth course win and continues to struggle with a rating in the 70s as conditions were in his favour.
Grand Vizier was quite keen wide out in the early stages and paid for it late.
