Shabahar took keen hold, held up in midfield, headway and ridden 2f out, ran on strongly to lead inside final furlong, soon in command
Princess Lavinia led for 1f, chased leader after until over 4f out, stayed handy, ridden to lead just over 1f out, headed and not pace of winner inside final furlong
Daring Racer chased leaders, went 2nd over 4f out, ridden just over 2f out, one pace under pressure
Follow The Colours very slowly away, behind, headway over 3f out, ridden and effort on inner 2f out, kept on but not pace to reach leaders
Silent Applause held up behind, ridden 3f out, stayed on final furlong, never troubled leaders
Montrose Man held up towards rear, ridden and unable to quicken 2f out, plugged on
Vinces led after 1f, ridden 2fout, headed just over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Scripted chased leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Rock Haven held up in rear, ridden and brief effort 2f out, soon well beaten
Camp Attack chased leaders until weakened quickly 3f out, virtually pulled up from over 1f out
SHABAHAR evidently wants a decent pace, as he can pull, and he also wants this quickish ground, which he has very seldom had before. He has plummeted in the handicap - not without reason - and made the most of what in hindsight might appear lenient treatment. He was clearly going strongly in mid field on the outer as they approached the home turn, and he came with a good run in the straightto lead just inside the final furlong. Connections believe he can go on to better things now.
Princess Lavinia was off a very feasible mark and had plenty going for her, but having got to the front on the rail just over a furlong out she succumbedto the winner, who was wide up the middle of the track. She can be placed to advantage again now at a similar level.
Follow The Colours kept on from off the pace after losing significant ground at the start.
Silent Applause, trying a longer trip, stayed on down the outside when the race was over.
Lingfield maiden winner Vinces (bandaged all round again) weakened in the straight after making the running.
Scripted, who was expected to run well back on turf for the first time this year, was beaten approaching the straight after being unable to lead.
Liam Jones reported that Rock Haven lost his action. Eddie Ahern reported that Vinces was unsuited by the going.
