Chaninbar chased leader, led 4th to 3 out, with leader, hard ridden and edged left flat, led close home, all out
Beherayn led to 4th, with winner, led 3 out, hard ridden flat, headed close home
Orrezzo always prominent, not fluent 3rd, ridden approaching 3 out, mistake 2 out, weakening when hit last
King Of The Beers held up, some headway on inside approaching 5th, weakened 3 out
Springwood Lady prominent until weakened 4th
Tumble Jill jumped right, prominent until weakened 4th
Silivri held up, hampered 4th, soon struggling
Crazy Bold pulled hard early in rear, mistake 2nd, tailed off 5th, pulled up before 3 out
This intermediate hurdle looked the right opportunity for Beherayn to regain the winning thread as the main opposition defected. However, it was not to be as he had to narrowly give best to Chaninbar after the pair had duelled from the home bend. He had run out at Stratford last time and there must be more than a hint that he prefers to go left-handed as his previous successes had been round Taunton and Huntingdon.
CHANINBAR was effectively the best horse in the race at the weights with the runner-up penalised but he had looked pretty well exposed. He can be quirky and connections will now send him back over fences as he remains a novice in that sphere for this season.
King Of The Beers, making his hurdles debut and wearing a visor instead of the cheekpieces he sported on the Flat, never really got competitive and may be capable of a bit better with this experience under his belt.
