Analyis of the race

The feature on the card, and it was a fairly open handicap chase. OUMEYADE had obviously recovered well from his two races within 24 hours at Stratford two weeks ago as he was 25lb higher here and managed to win, but had to be ridden right out to do so. His tendency to jump right did not really help his cause and there is a good chance he will be better going the other way. But he has now had three races in two weeks and connections will decide whether he now has a rest until the autumn.

He's The Gaffer looks to be handicapped right up to his best as he is 6lb higher than his last win 15 months ago.

Borora is another well and truly in the grip of the handicapper.
