Analyis of the race
A fairly competitive handicap hurdle for the time of year. NANGA PARBAT had seemingly lost the plot as he had not scored for over two and a half years, and his last outing hardly inspired confidence. However, he proved good enough to win here and there did not seem to be any fluke about it even though Nayodabayo ran out when still in front in the straight.
Given his previous record, you would not want to bet on the seven-year-old winning again, but at least he showed he still has the ability whenhe wants to use it.
Cold Mountain is probably where the handicapper wants him, Tension Point is another in the assessor's grip, while Marrel is now in the veteran stage, but he ran well enough.
