Si Belle tracked leaders, led on bit over 2f out, edged right, clear 1f out, eased inside final furlong
Smetana chased leaders, driven over 5f out, went 2nd over 1f out, no chance with winner
Marie Tempest led until over 2f out, faded over 1f out
Gunnadoit held up towards rear, effort 5f out, soon well outpaced
Pequeno Dinero soon chasing leaders, reminders over 6f out, soon lost place
Kuriyama soon chasing leaders, hard driven 6f out, soon lost place
Romford Car Two chased leaders, lost place over 5f out, soon behind
Stop The Power in rear, lost place 6f out, soon behind
Only three mattered from the home turn but the fact they finished so well strung out illustrated the limitations of several contenders, as well asthe testing nature of this track.
But SI BELLE looks to thrive on a test of stamina and she confirmed the promise of her previous handicap efforts, cruising to the front over 2f out, edging right but going clear to score very easily. She is a well-bred filly and winning a race would have been the main aim for her owner-breeder, but she would have obvious prospects of following up if persevered with, though a marked rise in the weights is on the cards.
Marie Tempest had shown little in handicaps but did a smidgeon better on this handicap debut.
The rest were soundly beaten, with Gunnadoit disappointing on his Fibresand debut.
