Bell Island chased leader, led 3f out, maintained narrow advantage mainly under hands and heels, edged left final furlong, held on gamely
Shy led until 3f out, kept on gamely under pressure and continued to press winner, always narrowly held
Flam held up in rear, 5th and ridden 4f out, kept on to go 3rd inside final furlong, not trouble first two
Baraari held up in 4th, ridden to go 3rd over 2f out, not pace to stay in touch with first two
Ucetek awkward start, soon tracking leading pair, shaken up and unbalanced on track inside final 3f, lost action and eased 2f out
Black Cloud dwelt, held up in rear, lost touch 5f out, driven and no chance final 3f
Prince Joshua dwelt and went left start, mainly 5th until dropped to last halfway, soon well behind
The former French-trained gelding engaged in a good tussle with Shy in the final quarter mile. As the winner edged left inside the distance, Richard Kingscote was not tempted into using his whip and made sure of it under a hands and heels ride.
Shy looked as if this longer trip suited her, as the principals came clear, but she is looking exposed now.
Baraari came under the whip two furlongs out and is also proving a shade disappointing while Ucetek's run was too bad to be true. Losing ground at the start, she was never travelling and her rider looked down at the furlong pole as if something was wrong.
