Harwalla led, ridden well over 1f out, driven and edged right entering final furlong, headed and no extra last half furlong
Kerrys Requiem dwelt, soon in touch on outer, headway to challenge and every chance when edged left entering final furlong, driven and kept on
Elegant Cad dwelt, in touch, headway over 1f out, ridden and kept on inside final furlong, nearest finish
Deadly Encounter close up, pushed along and every chance 2f out, soon ridden and edged left, weakened entering final furlong
Dispol Kylie close up, pushed along 2f out, soon ridden and weakened approaching final furlong, eased
SPIN CYCLE, who put a disappointing first run behind him when winning at Hamilton last time, was settled just off the pace but came through to lead in the final furlong, and though he edged right, he was always doing enough. He now heads for the Norfolk Stakes.
It is hard to know quite the value of the form, as wide-margin debut winner Deadly Encounter, who looked the winner's main threat, was disappointing, and the winner was chased home by Harwalla, who seemed to appreciate the step up to 6f on his previous start, but ran a solid race back over this sharp 5f.
The newcomer Elegant Cad looked just in need of the run, but he is a rangy sort with plenty of scope, and ran a sound race on his debut. He will soon find a race.
Deadly Encounter was tending to hang and was never going, and Dispol Kylie, who showed speed, hung markedly right and was eased when held in the final furlong.
