The winner started a hot favourite and won like one, going best throughout and looking like she can make her mark in pattern company.
Lee Miller boxed on very well in the final furlong, and she's a certainty to win a maiden. Suede stayed on from the rear to show a fair bit of promise on this first appearance, while this was Selsey's qualifying run for a handicap, and she will do better in that sphere.
Isle Of Capri ran pretty well given her price - this was a much easier assignment than she had faced on her debut at Newbury 20 days earlier, when 19th of 20 at 50-1 - while like Selsey, perhaps Sterope will benefit from getting a handicap mark.
Miss Clonyn, given her SP of 150-1, had run pretty well in the UAE Oaks in February to be fifth of ten, though beaten nearly ten lengths. This was her first run in Britain, first on turf for 11 months, first for a new trainer, and first time in headgear. But she finished nearer last than first.
Gone are the days when a Godolphin newcomer was automatically favourite for a maiden like this, but Titillate was nonetheless an interesting debutante. However, it appears she is far from a leading light in her stable.
The form of the Lingfield maiden in which Twelfth Night had finished third of six on her debut has worked out well, and so this will have knocked that form.
