Dakiyah held up, headway 4f out, not clear run 3f out, switched left and led 2f out, stayed on well final furlong
Multicultural in rear, pushed along halfway, headway 3f out, squeezed out 2f out, kept on final furlong
Megalala tracked leaders, every chance over 2f out, kept on
Press The Button held up, effort over 2f out, one pace after
Cupid´s Glory led after 1f, ridden and headed 2f out, soon beaten
Northern Jem led for 1f, weakened over 2f out, eased 1f out
Multicultural has been shaping as though a step up to 1m4fmight be contemplated, and connections will surely go that route now. He was slightly detached rounding the bend and was given a reminder, but subsequently stayed on takingly.
Megalala had run pretty well the last twice here over 1m1f (and at Brighton over this trip before that), though he was 3lb out of the handicap for this assignment. Bearing that in mind, this was a fair effort. His consistency will be rewarded soon.
This was Cupid's Glory's first run on turf since he'd finished 22nd of 23 at 100-1 at Ascot in September (since ran on all-weather and twice at St Moritz), and it wasn't a bad one at all, probably better than the bare result suggests. He is certainly worth running again on turf.
Northern Jem had not suggested on his first three starts this season that he was upto defying joint top-weight in this, and the margin of this defeat means it's back to the drawing board.
