Tilsworth Charlie held up, good headway from over 1f out, ran on to lead inside final furlong, won going away
Caustic Wit led group of 3 on far side and soon overall leader, ridden and headed well inside final furlong
Kyllachy Storm held up, headway 2f out, every chance entering final furlong, kept on inside final furlong
Reigning Monarch slowly away, soon chased leaders, ridden and edged right over 1f out, soon beaten
Contented led stands' side, hung right and weakened approaching final furlong
Hart Of Gold chased leader far side, weakened over 1f out
Sheriff´s Silk prominent far side until weakened final furlong
Exit Strategy prominent until weakened over 1f out
Who´s Winning always towards rear
Our Fugitive prominent until weakened over 1f out
Morse slowly into stride, switched towards stands' side, always towards rear
Nordic Light chased stands' side leader until weakened quickly over 1f out
Tadlil always struggling in rear, tailed off
The consistent TILSWORTH CHARLIE was back a furlong on this easier ground and she certainly looked to have plenty left in the tank at the end, being value for the winning margin. It would be no surprise to see her out again quickly after this deserved success.
Caustic Wit was one of only three to race towards the far side early, and it did him no harm, for this was a creditable effort, and he continues to defy his years.
Top weight Nordic Light enjoyed a 4lb pull for a length-and-a-half defeat behind Caustic Wit over this trip at Brighton last month (Caustic Wit mid-division at Windsor since), so the fact he could only finish 12th this evening was disappointing.
Kyllachy Storm had been a nose away from breaking his duck at the 15th attempt ten days ago at Chepstow over this trip, and this was another good run. His turn will come. Reigning Monarch had excuses the last twice, since his second place over this trip at Folkestone (7f too far, then reared at start), and he showed what he could do with all being equal.
Exit Strategy, second in a 5f claimer ten days earlier, found this company tougher. Who's Winning has never scored beyond 6f, so it was not surprising to see him cut no ice over hurdles. This was his first Flat outing since December and he is likely to benefit for it.
All three of Our Fugitive's wins have been over 5f. He'd run well to be third at Folkestoneover this trip on Tuesday, but that exertion may have told on him.
