Slugger O´Toole chased leaders, effort to chase leader over 2f out, every chance 2f out, not pace of winner final furlong, lost 2nd last 100yds
Opera Prince tracked leaders on inner, not clear run 3f out until switched over 1f out, plugged on but never pace to threaten leaders
East Drive chased leader until over 2f out, soon struggling

Cross Fell went right start, soon led, headed well over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Geezers Colours chased leaders, ridden 3f out, soon struggling
Nezami held up in last trio, never troubled leaders
The Game steadied start, took keen hold, held up in midfield, not clear run on inner 3f out until over 2f out, no progress last 2f, eased inside final furlong
Keep Discovering took keen hold, held up in midfield, hanging badly left from over 3f out, no chance last 2f, eased inside final furlong
Dubai Meydan was highly regarded enough to run in the Dewhurst at two, so a mark of 79 was potentially lenient, even allowing for his subsequent gelding and a scrambled win in a Catterick maiden. Hampered by Cross Fell as he left the stalls, he was at the back of the field and stayed there until well into the straight. He edged right from the whip when making his effort on the outside and appeared to give Meydan Dubai a nudge before running on well. He has a nice handicap in him.
Slugger O'Toole has gone from strength to strength, but he had his chance here and the handicapper may just have his measure.
Cross Fell led for a long way on his return to turf and did better than his stablemate The Game, but 6f winner The Game was much too keen for his own good on this first try at 7f and then saw no daylight on the inside. He didn't have a race, as he was eased when his chance had gone.
Nezami never looked happy on the track, and that was confirmed by Frankie Dettori when he reported that the colt lost his action. Geezers Colours dropped right out after racing handily.
Keep Discovering was keen under restraint and finished last. (GD)
