Applaude made a promising debut, taking time to grasp what was required, but staying on stoutly towards the finish after looking to falter slightly when briefly tight for room on the rails. He should be all the better for this outing and ought to be capable of winning a race or two.
Street Devil ran a whole lot better here than on his reappearance and, on this evidence, should be able to win a little maiden.
Muftarres never landed a blow, but will be all the better for this experience. His stablemate Kingdom Of Fife acted coltish down at the start and also sweated up. He took a fair bit of rousting through the race to get his mind on the job, but he showed ability in the second half.
Half A Crown and First Swallow were not disgraced on their debuts.
