The ground was officially changed to good-to-soft before this race. MAGIC ECHO, a freegoing sort, quickly established a long lead here and looked to be doing plenty in front. But there was no catching her and, when her jockey finally gave her the office more than two furlongs, she found extra and nothing was able to come from out of the chasing pack with a potent challenge. She took another four furlongs after the race to be pulled-up. Quite how much tactics contributed to this success is hard to sayfor sure. Easier to say is that she is clearly in excellent order, though, if the handicapper takes this form literally, life is going to become considerably tougher for her in the future.
