One More Round steadied start, held up behind, smooth headway on outer over 2f out, carried right over 1f out, ridden to lead well inside final furlong
Miracle Baby took keen hold, in touch in midfield, headway and ridden 2f out, every chance inside final furlong, unable to quicken towards finish
Secret Meaning chased leaders, ridden and hanging right from 2f out, kept on under pressure final furlong
Million Percent chased leader until over 3f out, ridden just over 2f out, led just inside final furlong, headed well inside final furlong, faded towards finish
Moayed steadied start, held up well behind, headway well over 1f out, ran on final furlong, never pace to reach leaders
Fly In Johnny chased leaders, went 2nd over 3f out, ridden to lead well over 1f out, headed just inside final furlong, soon beaten
Saafend Geezer steadied after start, held up behind, headway on inner 2f out, ridden 1f out, soon no impression
Sir Douglas taken down early, steadied start, held up behind, headway on outer over 2f out, hung right over 1f out, never near leaders
Agon Eyes in touch in midfield, lost place and ridden just over 2f out, no chance after
Ballad Maker in touch in midfield, ridden 3f out, lost place just over 2f out, no chance after
Orchestration soon led, ridden just over 2f out, headed well over 1f out, weakened quickly
Wilford Maverick raced in midfield on outer, lost place and ridden over 2f out, soon well beaten
Valeesha very slowly away, behind, lost touch over 2f out, tailed off
There was a steadier early pace than anticipated but the three who were a couple of lengths clear of the pack racing downhill inside the last three furlongs could not take advantage, notably Fly In Johnny.
He had finished behind ONE MORE ROUND, who like him was turning out after being beaten over 6f in a claimer the previous day.
One More Round, oldest and one-time 100-plus rated performer with £300,000in prizemoney, was able to toy with these as he needs to do at his age - connections reported he would down tools if hit with the whip. The previous day had shown he is far too high in the ratings and he was fully entitled to win this on official marks.
Miracle Baby has had her chances and remains a maiden but showed on this return from a 503-day absence that she should be able to win a banded contest with her rating allowing entry.
Million Percent is another well exposed old handicapper and while he has not quite run to his best or his official mark, he remains a danger to all at this level.
The same applies to Moayed and he could have done with a stronger pace from the start as he was reined in at the back and sat well out of his ground. He was staying on when it was all over as is his wont these days whatever trip he is given.
