Stoneacre Lad close up, effort 2f out, driven to lead just over 1f out, edged left but drew clear final furlong
Cake led, ridden and headed just over 1f out, soon no chance with winner but held on for 2nd
Biniou took keen hold, held up, progress on inner 2f out, shaken up and stayed on final furlong, nearest finish
Green Manalishi prominent, ridden to challenge over 1f out, not quicken and soon beaten
Matsunosuke held up in rear, effort when not clear run over 1f out until entering final furlong, pushed along and stayed on
Judd Street took keen hold, not much room over 3f out, tracked leaders 2f out, pulled out over 1f out but hanging and no progress
Mocha Java took keen hold, not much room after 1f, soon dropped to last, never on terms after
Rowe Park dwelt, held up in rear on outer, effort and not clear run over 1f out, no chance
Galeota chased leader to over 1f out, weakened rapidly
Group Therapy took keen hold, not much room after 1f, in touch on outer halfway, weakened over 1f out
Cake, who won her sole start on Polytrack on her racecourse debut last year and had not raced on the all-weather since, but she broke really well from her middle draw, made the running and stayed on really well when headed. She has some good form to her name having won in this grade and been placed at Group level and she may be able to add to her score, especially against her own sex.
Green Manalishi has form on Polytrack in the past and ran well on his first try on the surface for almost two years. A flat track suits him well and he can score again at this level.
Matsunosuke was well backed but could never land a blow, while a similar comment applies to Judd Street, whose rider, Stephen Carson, reported that he failed to handle the bend.
Galeota raced up with the early pace set by his stable companion but dropped out tamely, while Mocha Java, a multiple winning sprinter in South Africa, was the victim of some interference in the early stages before staying on.
