Megalo Maniac started slowly, outpaced

Plenty with questions to answer in a typically uncompetitive 46-60 handicap.

LIMONIA has at least been running consistently well this season, which her trainer out down to her being in-foal to Royal Applause, and after avoiding her customary slowstart, she was soon in front and made all for a fairly comfortable success. She has won off a mark 4lb higher than this in the past and would have to be taken very seriously if turned out under a penalty here or at Lingfield this weekend.

Whozart chased the winner on the inside from halfway and showed the benefit of his reappearance with a much better effort, showing that he retains his ability and that he is effective on Fibresand.

Mormeatmic ran about his best race of the year to date, while Rambling Socks also improved a little on recent efforts, though the fact that neither had been in much form underlines the impression this was not a strong contest.

Arfinnit was another not to be disgraced from a wide draw, having shownspeed. He may not have been suited by the surface.

Jockey Dane O'Neill reported that Gracie's Gift did not face the kickback.
