Hits Only Vic held up in touch, smooth headway over 3f out, led well over 1f out, ridden clear entering final furlong, driven out
Bijou Dan held up in touch, headway halfway, close up 4f out, led 3f out and soon ridden, headed well over 1f out and soon driven, kept on under pressure inside final furlong
Pee Jay´s Dream always prominent, effort 3f out and every chance until ridden well over 1f out and kept on same pace
Aleron tracked leaders, headway over 4f out, ridden along 3f out, driven over 2f out and kept on same pace
Saluscraggie tracked leaders, headway on outer over 4f out, ridden along well over 2f out and soon beaten
Qaasi led, ridden along 4f out, headed 3f out and soon weakened
Prince Of Love in touch, ridden along over 3f out and soon weakened
Declan Carroll has his horses in good form, and HITS ONLY VIC, although unproven under these conditions, coped admirably and ran out a determined winner. He can probably score again.
Bijou Dan, headed by the winner over a furlong out, did not fail for battling qualities, but he was unable to get back on top inside the last.
Pee Jay's Dream, with the ground in his favour, travelled sweetly and looked the most likely winner entering the last two furlongs. But, when push came to shove, he was found wanting and he faded inside the last.
