Porthole made all, drew clear well over 2f out, at least 5 lengths clear final furlong, heavily eased near finish
Torphichen always chasing winner, shaken up over 3f out, left behind from over 2f out, kept on
Cuban Rhythm prominent, pushed along from 3f out, tried to challenge for 2nd from 2f out, one pace
April´s Daughter mostly tracked leading pair, appeared short of room on inner from 2f out, nudged along and kept on steadily
Mvuto held up in midfield, shuffled along from 3f out, stayed on steadily, nearest finish
Voice Coach held up in midfield, progress over 2f out, joined chasers over 1f out, kept on steadily
Civitas Filius settled in midfield, pushed along 3f out, kept on steadily at one pace
Ask Nicely started slowly, pulled hard and held up in last trio, some progress on inner final 2f, never nearer
Pimento started slowly, held up in last quartet, some progress 2f out, reminder over 1f out, stayed on steadily
Capstan started slowly, held up in last trio, pushed along on outer over 2f out, ran green and awkwardly, kept on
Opening Act chased leaders, ridden and not keen over 2f out, soon lost place and beaten
Valvigneres well enough placed behind leaders, pushed along over 3f out, steadily lost place
Dixie Dean held up towards rear, pushed along and no progress 3f out
Amir Pasha started slowly, ran very green in last, always behind
One Night In May held up towards rear, brief effort on wide outside over 2f out, soon weakened
Looking fit and well for his seasonal reappearance, the grey made every yard under Michael Hills and could be named the winner well over 2f out, where everything else was under the pump. The softening ground, made so by increased rainfall during the contest, posed no problems to Barry Hills's charge, who will be interesting in handicaps. It would not come as a surprise to see him in his trainer's Royal Ascot team, with the King George V Handicap the target.
Torphichen, who hails from the family of Oaks winner Bireme, kept on for minor money without being given a hard time. This has given his connections something to build on.
April's Daughter had shown nil on her debut, making this improved display something of a surprise, while Voice Coach got closer than his seemingly better-fancied stablemate Dixie Dean, albeit without threatening at any stage.
