Boldinor held up, headway halfway, ridden over 1f out, led and edged right inside final furlong, just held on
Doubtful Sound slowly into stride, held up, stumbled over 2f out, headway over 1f out, hung right and ran on inside final furlong, just failed
Avertitop soon pushed along in rear, headway over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, not quicken near finish
Rainbow Bay slowly into stride, headway 4f out, led halfway, soon ridden, headed inside final furlong, no extra towards finish
Swift Cut prominent, ridden over 1f out, soon hung right, stayed on same pace
Accolation chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
Mannello chased leaders, lost place halfway, soon hung right, never dangerous after
Summer Gift chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, soon weakened
Her Name Is Rio led to halfway, weakened 2f out
Bubbles Darling dwelt, outpaced, hung left from halfway
He missed the break but came there over a furlong out and, leading inside the final furlong, kept on well to hold the late challenge of the runner-up. He could easily go in again if running in selling handicap company.
Doubtful Sound had won a claimer at Yarmouth four days earlier and was behind in the early stages, but made good progress from a furlong out and kept on well without quite getting to the winner. He is clearly in good form and should soon win again in similar grade.
Rainbow Bay led at halfway and clearly ran respectably, and Swift Cut was another not disgraced.
