Analyis of the race
Modest fare among these Class 6 sprinters, and, once again, it paid dividends to have a low draw, with the bulk of the field coming to the stands' side.
RED RIVER BOY had not shown a great deal previously, but he came good here with a pleasing display. Perhaps the penny is only now starting to drop with him.
Regal Veil had no apparent excuses, while Socceroo, beaten in a seller on her reappearance, showed bags of foot here and was only denied inside the last. She can probably win something similar.
Big Slick, returning after a short break, following his brace of wins, had every chance, but he became outpaced at half-way before staying on again. He may be seen to better advantage over an extra furlong now.
Mill Creek did well from her high draw, which proved a disadvantage the way the race panned out.
