Orpen Bid held up, effort outside 3f out, soon weakened
Chaenomeles, who had shown next to nothing in her two previous starts this season, ran a good deal better here and indeed looked the most likely winner for most of the race, until, after being sent clear over two furlongs out, was wearily worried out of it inside the last.
Petandra was not disgraced on her handicap debut.
