Septimus raced in 5th, ridden to go 2nd under 2f out, led over 1f out, stayed on well to draw clear inside final furlong
Mores Wells raced mainly in 4th, closer in 3rd under 3f out, kept on same pace under pressure from over 1f out, 2nd close home
Peppertree Lane soon tracked leader in 2nd, led under 3f out, strongly pressed and headed over 1f out, soon no impression, dropped to 3rd close home
Red Moloney soon in rear, closer in 4th and ridden when switched over 1f out, soon no impression, kept on same pace
Hasanka soon tracked leaders in 3rd, 4th under 3f out, no impression under pressure in 5th from over 1f out
Nick´s Nikita towards rear, mainly 6th, no impression under pressure from 1 1/2f out
Mikhail Fokine soon led, headed under 3f out, weakened from under 2f out
Absent since beating Geordieland by five lengths in the Doncaster Cup in September, he was held up until beginning his effort over 2f out and after going to the front over 1f out, he ran on well without being subjected to a hard race. He was fit enough to see off the opposition and can be expected to come on a lot for the run.
A multiple Pattern-race winner, he hasyet to win a Group 1 but it will be a surprise if he does not put that situation right at some stage this season. The Irish Field St Leger in September was mentioned as a likely target with a wide range of options available to him before then.
MoresWells, rated 12lb below the winner, finished third in last year's Irish St Leger and is a fairly consistent performer over a variety of trips. The ground was possibly a bit slower than ideal for him but he acquitted himself well, tracking the leaders and sticking to his task on the inside all the way up the straight without troubling the winner inside the final furlong.
Red Moloney was held up in the rear before beginning his effort over 2f out. Switched left in fourth place over 1f out, he kept on without ever posing a serious threat.
Hasanka, runner-up to Ezima at Listed level over this trip at Leopardstown on her previous start, was in contention until over 2f out from where she was soon fighting a losing battle. [TO'H]
