English City held up in midfield, driven 3 out, rallied to lead approaching next, kept on well
Portavadie held up, driven and outpaced 3 out, rallied and hung right next, kept on, not pace of winner
Paradise Bay took keen hold, held up in touch, hit 4 out, smooth headway and every chance next, no extra from 2 out
Summer Soul held up, ridden and outpaced 4 out, plugged on from 2 out, never dangerous
Shoudawoudacouda tracked leaders, led 3 out to approaching next, soon weakened
Front Rank prominent until lost place 4 out, soon no danger
Soliya close up, every chance 4 out, weakened next
Annabelle´s Boy led to 3 out, soon ridden and weakened
South Bronx prominent to halfway, soon lost place
Bill´s Echo behind, struggling halfway, never on terms
Tarkani behind, fell 6th
Portavadie, lightly-raced in recent seasons, gave a much more encouraging display than of late in finishing second, albeit comfortably held by the winner. Perhaps he has finally turned the corner.
The remainder werewell held. Summer Soul was far from disgraced, though, in fourth, while Shoudawoudacouda, who raced keenly, found less than promised when eventually let down.
Front Rank was in trouble a fair way out.
