Manhattan Boy held up, headway to chase leaders halfway, challenged 2 out, soon led, driven out from last
Seeyaaj in touch, effort 3 out, kept on well from last, not reach winner
Media Man jumped left, led to 2 out, no extra last
Yankee Holiday close up until hung right and weakened from 2 out
Ho Pang Yau held up, shortlived effort 4 out, soon weakened
Brave Broncho held up in touch, hit and weakened 8th
Caulkleys Bank held up, fell 5th
Tom´s Toybox close up until slipped up and fell bend after 5th
Seeyaaj, with a recent comeback run under his belt, shaped well in second, sticking on stoutly in the closing stages, if just lacking the finishing speed to reel in the winner.
Media Man made the running at a brisk pace. Joined by the winner two out, he was gradually put in his place.
Ho Pang Yau never landed a blow, and neither did Brave Broncho, while Tom's Toybox was racing prominently when he slipped up on the bend passing the stands with a circuit to race. That part of the course was sanded immediately after this race, while the water jump was omitted from subsequent chases.
