Analyis of the race

Top weight failed to halt MANHATTAN BOY, who produced a workmanlike display to win in determined style. His last visit here - two outings ago - saw him get himself very worked up in a tongue-strap, and consequently failed to run his race. He was muchbetter last time, minus the tongue-tie, and, without it again here, was in the right frame of mind to put his best foot forward.

Seeyaaj, with a recent comeback run under his belt, shaped well in second, sticking on stoutly in the closing stages, if just lacking the finishing speed to reel in the winner.

Media Man made the running at a brisk pace. Joined by the winner two out, he was gradually put in his place.

Ho Pang Yau never landed a blow, and neither did Brave Broncho, while Tom's Toybox was racing prominently when he slipped up on the bend passing the stands with a circuit to race. That part of the course was sanded immediately after this race, while the water jump was omitted from subsequent chases.
