Irish horses dominated this race, filling the first three places, with RECOVERY MAN, in front the whole way, leading them home. This drop back in distancemattered not a jot to him and, equipped with cheekpieces, he won with something to spare after being given a positive ride. He has a tendency to look around him in front, but Paul Carberry gave him a priceless ride, and his mount clearly relished these conditions.
Point-to-point winner Flemross, making his hurdles bow, shaped well, picking up well from off the pace from three out and keeping on until flattening out a little after the last. He shapes like a stayer.
Stylish Shot, who raced keenly under restraint, kept on, but never looked like landing a blow.
The remainder were well beaten, including Corkage, a dual bumper winner, who was found wanting from four out on his hurdles debut. His action suggests some ease in the ground may suit him better, even though he has coped with fast conditions on the level.
