Tayman led, quickened approaching 3 out, 3 lengths ahead and ridden when hit last, headed near finish

Cumbrian Knight tracked leaders, challenged 8th, lost place approaching next
The Saltire Tiger with leaders, lost place approaching 3 out, soon behind, tailed off

LORD ON THE RUN, absent since November, was able to race from a mark a stone lower than his chase rating. He took some persuading, but in the end put his head in front where it matters maintaining the good winning recent run of his stable.
Tayman, raised 16lb after his all-the-way 14-length success at Worcester, had just a 7lb penalty. He did not enjoy an uncontested lead, but looked in command when he missed out the second-last flight. He prefers genuinely firm ground, but will have a lot more on his plate in future.
Cumbrian Knight gave the leader no peace. He hasn't won over jumps for three years and these days seems to enjoy himself more in stayers' handicap on the all-weather.
