Terenzium held up in rear, shaken up and headway 7th, challenged 3 out, kept on same pace between last 2
Peters Star tracked leaders, outpaced approaching 2 out, stayed on well last 100yds
Norman Beckett took keen hold in rear, effort 8th, soon driven to chase leaders, weakened approaching 2 out
Alto Stratus took keen hold in front, hung right and jumped right-handed, headed approaching 3 out, soon lost place
The six-year-old, successful under McCoy at Towcester on his previous outing, never looked in the remotest danger of defeat after taking the lead turning for home and establishing a clear advantage at the third-last flight.
He had been held up in second or third for much of the earlier part of the race, as longshot Alto Stratus set a good pace, but he had his rivals toiling once asked to quicken and made only one jumping error, a relatively minor one, two hurdles out.
Terenzium did best of the rest, overcoming a couple of sticky jumps mid-race before staying on stoutly towards the finish without really threatening to get to the winner, while Peters Star lacked the acceleration to take a closer part in proceedings.
Norman Beckett ran moderately for one who had notched a course victory on his latest outing, getting a reminder or two around halfway, coming under pressure when the taps were turned on in earnest and finally weakening quickly.
Alto Stratus, whose head carriage was the most attractive at times, also dropped away tamely when push came to shove.
