Analyis of the race

The ground was good to firm, firm in places. This was just an ordinary novices' handicap which was won by SIR QUIGLEY, who is pretty exposed as this was his eighth run over hurdles, and his first success.

Coming from off the pace, he led after thelast and was driven clear. Fast ground clearly suits him.

Floodlight Fantasy, penalised for his Fakenham win, was a touch keen, had every chance from three out, but couldn't quicken after the last. He didn't appear to fail through lack of stamina given that this track is a much stiffer test than Fakenham, but he'll probably face a stiffer task in future handicaps.
