Analyis of the race
A race run in heavy rain and another ordinary handicap even with the first four drawing clear. WILLOW DANCER, wearing cheekpieces for the first time, proved the one to be on as he opened his account. The headgear seemingly galvanised the winner into putting his best foot forward and as long as it works again there might be more to come, as he is not exactly overburdened with a mark of 66.
Moyoko's wins have been on the sand but this run was encouraging for her turf prospects and there may wellbe more to come from her, probably in the mares' division.
Coup D'Etat did not get a clear run in the straight but he gave the impression he may not be straightforward.
Goose Green could have finished closer had he not been switched around plenty of horses when denied a clear run in the straight.
