Mutajarred pressed leader, ridden over 2f out, led 1f out, always holding runner up after
Many Volumes rearing in stalls, led, quickened 4f out ridden over 2f out, headed 1f out, kept on battling but always just held
Impeller took keen hold, tracked leaders, ridden over 2f out, soon outpaced by leading pair, lost action final strides
Pinpoint took keen hold, held up in touch, ridden and hanging bend over 3f out, no chance with leaders final 2f
Secret World steadied start, held up in last pair, ridden over 3f out, outpaced well over 2f out, no chance after
Frank Sonata held up in last place, ridden 4f out, soon outpaced
The race was marred by the loss of Impeller, who fractured a pastern as he crossed the line in third.
MUTAJARRED proved the strongest in a good tussle with Many Volumes, with the pair clear of the rest. A horse who relies on soft ground on turf, there was enough cushion in this surface for him to run to his best and he looks a strong stayer over this trip this term.
Many Volumes seemed to run his race. He was conceding 4lb to the field and was pestered for the lead by the eventual winner for much of the race.
Although Pinpoint looks likely to be hard to place this season, on this evidence he's not at his best at present. He appeared to find very little under pressure.
