Sandyzar made a very bold bid to follow up his recent win at Navan and did it the hard way from the front. He kicked again from the third-last but a slight mistake at the last certainly didn't help him as the winner took his measure close home. It's hard to say whether he was particularly unlucky or not, but he could well have been.
Held up off the pace was Plunge, and he proceeded to make good progress on the outside and to look a real threat at the third-last. In the end, he kept on pretty much at one pace but it was a very decent effort for his handicap debut.
His second run back from a long absence showed that there is a bit of life left in Reminiscer. He was never that far from the pace, and while he was being pushed along to maintain his position from before the fourth-last, he plugged on well and showed a lot more here than on his Navan reappearance last month.
On his handndicap debut, joint-favourite Pink Suitcase ran no race and was never better than mid-division, while Francis Du Mesnil raced in mid-division but was starting to get closer when falling three out. [JOH]
