Mister Green in touch, headway over 3f out, ridden to lead just over 1f out, in command final furlong
Solo Attempt chased leader until 2f out, soon switch left, chased winner final furlong, kept on same pace
Sir Geoffrey slowly into stride, behind, ridden and hung right well over 1f out, headway and edged left over 1f out, ran on well final furlong,
Speak The Truth soon pushed up to lead, ridden 2f out, headed just over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Yokozuna reared in stalls and very slowly away, still last but in touch 4f out, ridden and struggling well over 2f out, no chance after
Tasman Gold dwelt, soon chasing leaders, ridden over 2f out, soon struggling
Victorian Tycoon chased leaders, lost place and ridden over 3f out, no chance final 2f
The winner, though, was extremely well backed and he looks a fine prospect. Although always trapped wide, he travelled smoothly and showed a smart turn of foot once Fergal Lynch pushed the button early in the straight. Clearly geared up for this, he holds some valuable sales-race entries.
Sir Geoffrey was very green on debut and was hanging left all the way up the straight, but he finished with a rare rattle down the middle of the track and he looks sure to come on a bundle.
The front three came clear of Speak The Truth, who weakened pretty quickly in the final furlong, while the well-backed Victorian Tycoon lacked the scope of some of his rivals and was soon in trouble.
