Red Rouge always prominent, effort over 2f out, soon ridden and every chance, driven and kept on under pressure inside final furlong, took 3rd on line
Ogre tracked leaders, smooth headway to lead over 2f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, eased and lost 3rd on line
Silver Spruce dwelt and soon chased along to be in touch, effort 4f out, ridden along over 3f out and soon weakened
Northwest always behind
Marlena took keen hold, soon close up, ridden along 3f out, weakened 2f out
Sun In Splendour led, ridden along 4f out, headed over 2f out and soon weakened

Analyis of the race
The home turn, which had caused problems with slipping the previous day had been spiked and sanded thoroughly in the meantime, and there were no apparent problems here.
This was a modest race, in which SABRE LIGHT, who had shown nothing in his previous two races, bounced back to form in first-time cheekpieces, and dropped in class and distance. He is rated 58.
Hurstpierpoint, who is rated 55, was produced to win his race, but was run out of it late on.
