Icesolator tracked leader, led well over 1f out, driven out final furlong
Finjaan took keen hold, held up, ran on to chase winner inside final furlong
Foundation Room in touch until ridden halfway, kept on inside final furlong
Fazbee always prominent, kept on but not not quicken inside final furlong
Calypso Girl led until ridden and headed well over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Agente Parmigiano prominent until ridden and weakened 2f out
Pocket´s Pick very slowly away, always behind, tailed off
One of only two in the field who alreadyhad soft-ground form, he broke well and grabbed the rail, just off the pace set by Calypso Girl. In front not long after passing the 2f marker, he was clear with a furlong to go and was always holding well-backed favourite Finjaan. He is pretty useful, and the Norfolk now looks a likelier Royal Ascot target than the Windsor Castle because of the penalty situation.
Finjaan, who had made a good impression on faster ground at Newmarket, was too keen here, racing at the back of the main group until eased to the outside at halfway. He was still under restraint 2f out, but when asked to go after the winner he never looked like getting to him, though he took second inside the final furlong. He can do better when he settles.
Fazbee went into the race still a maiden, yet she was joint top-rated on RPRs. She ran well again, having her chance 2f out and only just getting run out of the places. She should have no trouble winning when her sights are lowered.
There was a gap back to pacesetter Calypso Girl, who isnot quite this class, and Ascot second Agente Parmigiano, who struggled in this better grade on very different ground.
Pocket's Pick ought to make a two-year-old, but this was a very stiff introduction for him and he was detached throughout after losing five or six lengths at the start. He ought to be capable of much better in due course.
