Art Man slowly into stride, held up in rear, pushed along and headway over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, ran on well to lead near finish
Vainglory chased leaders, ridden 4f out, headway under pressure over 2f out, led inside final furlong, headed and no extra
Sign Of The Cross took keen hold, chased leaders, joined leader going well just over 2f out, led well over 1f out, soon ridden, found little under pressure, headed inside final furlong, not quicken
Curzon Prince held up in midfield, headway 3f out, ridden and every chance just over 1f out, keeping on same pace when rider dropped whip well inside final furlong
Folio held up in rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, ran on well final furlong, not quite reach leaders
Scamperdale awkward leaving stalls and very slowly away, behind, headway 4f out, chased leaders under pressure well over 1f out, soon edged right, weakened 1f out
Gold Prospect slowly into stride, soon in midfield, ridden and effort over 2f out, weakened final furlong
Invasian chased leader, closed 5f out, led 4f out, joined and ridden just over 2f out, headed well over 1f out, soon weakened, eased final furlong
Dado Mush always behind, ridden over 4f out, never dangerous
Jord led and soon clear, headed 4f out, weakened over 2f out, well behind and eased inside final furlong
ART MAN was given a patient ride held up out the back but things panned out ideally for him as those up front began to tread water and the gaps came just when he needed them. He burst through to put his head in front on the line and register his fifth success of 2008.
He is clearly still improving having been forced up another 5lb for his latest win and he's having a fantastic year.
Vainglory was one of the first to come under pressure but he responded gamely, sticking on strongly to put his head in front and only being nailed in the final few strides. He's run really well.
Curzon Prince had every chance but couldn't muster the finishing speed up the inside, although his rider did drop his whip in the closing stages.
Folio finished strongly having travelled well from a long way and on this evidence he's definitely capable of winning off this mark.
